renaultsport megane r.s. crash at nurburgring

A Renaultsport Megane R.S. has crashed spectacularly at the Nürburgring track in Germany over the weekend.

The white Megane R.S. can be seen coming into the tight corner at an overly high speed, causing the car to understeer into the guardrail at the notoriously tricky racetrack.

The impact caused the hothatch to flip and loose one of its wheels before gliding to a stop on its roof.

While the accident may appear serious, we are glad to report the driver escaped without any serious injuries, a testament to the Megane R.S.’s sound engineering.

The current Renaultsport Megane R.S. is set to be replaced by a new model due out later this year. The all-new model is believed to be a five-door hatch with more than 220kW and potentially featuring an all-wheel drive system.
