Less is more: BMW E92 M3 lowered on KW coilover suspension kit

The BMW E92 M3 is widely considered as the last true M cars. With its howling naturally aspirated 4.0-litre V8 engine pushing out 309kW and 400Nm, rear-wheel drive and relatively light weight body, the E92 M3 drove as good as a it looked. It’s starting to become quite a collectible for ones that are in a mint condition.

The E92 M3’s design has aged well. Already sitting low and taut from the factory, little is needed to improve its aesthetics. If anything, a slight drop in ride height is all that’s needed to complete the looks. And here’s a fine example from German suspension specialist KW Automotive.

This grey E92 M3 coupe is completely stock other than having a set of three-way adjustable KW ST XTA Plus 3 coilover suspension. The dampers are independently adjustable in the low-speed and high-speed compression stages as well as low-speed rebound stage. They also have adjustable Unibal top mounts on the front axle. With a maximum lowering of 60mm, the suspension is said to deliver noticeable improvement in dynamics and handling without sacrificing ride comfort.

The kit is compatible with all E92 M3 coupe and sedan manufactured from 2007 to 2013, as well as 3 Series sedan, convertible and wagon manufactured within those years.
