BMW M5 lowered and kitted for the ultimate OEM-plus look

The seventh-generation BMW M5 is now a plug-in hybrid super sedan. Fusing a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that develops 430kW and 750Nm with an electric motor that makes 145kW and 280Nm, combined power is an incredible 535kW and 1000Nm.

Driving through an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, the sprint from 0 to 100km/h takes just 3.5 seconds, en route to a limited top speed of 305km/h.

It looks nothing like any of its previous predecessors. The kidney grille aside, the new M5 heralds a new era in BMW M design, with super aggressive styling backed by wide and hunkered down proportions. Even in stock form it’s bold and purposeful with unmistakable road presence.

But that didn’t stop tuners from dialling it up further. For a car like the M5, the OEM-plus approach is usually best. And that’s exactly what chasis specialist KW Suspension has done.

The KW adjustable coilover suspension kit gives the M5 a subtle but effective drop to minimise those unsightly wheel gaps. Handling is sharpened in the process without sacrificing ride comfort thanks to multi-valve technology.

Wider and larger wheels are employed for the ultimate street look, with the wheels sitting completely flush with the fenders.

Wrapping up the look is a set of carbon fibre aero enhancement bits consisting of a front splitter, side skirt extensions, a revised rear diffuser and a boot lid spoiler.
