Lamborghini Gallardo replacement-the Cabrera realistically imagined

The Lamborghini Gallardo has been with us for close to a decade and we know a new model is not far away. Although details about its replacement are limited for now, the guys (or gals) at Carbon Designs has come up with this proposal.

Looking like a cross between the Aventador and Limited Edition Sesto Elemento, with a dash of the Veneno and Egoista concept thrown in for good measure, the Carbon Designs render looks the goods.

According to whispers in the grapevine, the Gallardo replacement will allegedly take on the “Cabrera” moniker as well.

As with the design, Lamborghini remains tight lipped with the Gallardo’s technical details, but speculation is that it will be powered by a reworked V10 engine churning out at least 448kW (610HP) and around 575Nm of torque. A twin-clutch gearbox distributes power to all four wheels.

Lamborghini’s Commercial Director, Fintan Knight, had previously told the press that a rear-wheel drive version is possible further down the track, but a manual gearbox and hybrid powerplant are out of the question.

It would undoubtedly be lighter than today’s car as well, weighing in at approximately 1,309kg (2,887 lbs). Together with a more powerful engine, it should see the supercar dash from 0-100km/h in 3.2 seconds.

The Lamborghini Gallardo replacement is expected to make its debut later this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
