The revival of Alfa Romeo has much owing to the Giulia, the mid-size premium sports sedan that is often considered one of the most beautiful in its segment and the donor car for the BMW M3 killer that is the Giulia Quadrifoglio.
It has been around since 2017 and is looking to soldier on until at least 2027. That’s a decade-long production run. The new generation Giulia has been an on again and off again affair for a while now, with nothing solid from the Italian manufacturer so far.
But anticipation is building and any Giulia replacement model is certainly going to put the automotive world on notice. The internet has been busy putting its thoughts on how the new Giulia will look like. So far it’s been hit and miss, except this one from AI Car Design.
This rendering of the new Giulia looks absolutely sensational. If Alfa Romeo designers are still scratching their heads on the design of the next Giulia, well, this one will do. It still looks a little concept-ish but visualise it with slightly smaller wheels and framed windows and it will look production ready. As for the interior, just build it.
The next Giulia was rumoured to be fully electric but with EV uptake less strong than first thought, Alfa Romeo, like many other manufactures, is said to be revising their electrification strategy and going hybrid instead. This has pushed the launch of the new Giulia to beyond 2027 as the brand scrambles for a hybrid powertrain.
Whatever power unit Alfa Romeo decides to put into the Giulia at the end, here’s hoping that the car will at least look as good as this rendering.
