First official pic of Lamborhini’s £3.1m hypercar – the Veneno

This is the first picture of Lamborghini’s new special hypercar that will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in just a few hours.

Built to commemorate the company’s 50th anniversary, the Veneno – which apparently mean “poision” in Spanish, is based on the carbon fibre monocoque chassis of the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4.

It also features an uprated version of Aventador’s 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine that churns out 552kW (740hp), an increase of 30kW (40hp) over the Aventador. It can reportedly hit a v-max of 354km/h. Like the LP700-4, power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed automated manual gearbox.

No official detail is available just yet but a report in the Sunday Times in the US says that the hypercar will cost a cool £3.1m. Even at that price, three of the super exclusive Lamborghini Veneno have already found home!

Stay tuned for more details soon.
