In late 2016, Aston Martin brought out the stunning Vanquish S super grand tourer. Now, the British carmaker has unveiled its open-top sibling, the Vanquish S Volante.

Like the coupe, the S moniker brings a host of visual enhancement to the already gorgeous convertible exterior, including a new aerodynamic package that comprises of front splitter, side sills and rear diffuser fabricated from exposed carbon fibre. Adding to the drama is an integrated spoiler and quad exhaust tips.

The Vanquish S Volante gets its power from a 6.0-litre V12 engine shared with the coupe that produces 441kW thanks to an additional 20kW from the higher flowing intake manifold. Torque has also improved to 630Nm, while the 8-speed Touchtronic III transmission has been revised to provide faster gearshifts and a smoother shift at lower speeds.

Driving the rear wheels, the Vanquish S Volante is expected to match the coupe in 0-100 sprint time of around 3.5 seconds, though nothing has been confirmed so far. Like the coupe, Aston Martin has tuned the suspension in the convertible allowing even higher cornering performance. The spring rates, shock absorber internals and anti roll bar bushes have all been revised for increased performance in the twisty stuff.

Inside, occupants are greeted with an opulent interior complete with Strathmore quilted leather, a satin chopped carbon fibre fascia panel and Rokona headliner for the fabric roof.
