German tuner Geigercars celebrates the comeback of a racing legend with a specially tuned Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.

At the heart of the Geiger Camaro Z/28 is a sumptuous 7.0-litre V8 complete with dry sump lubrication, titanium inlet valves, aluminium cylinder heads, new high-lift camshafts and K&N cold air intake. The optimised LS7 powerplant dishes out 456kW of power and 725Nm of torque to the rear wheels through a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission. That’s a substantial 80kW and 73Nm increase over the standard Z/28.

To take full advantage of the added power, the track-oriented Camaro Z/28 has been put on a strict diet. All “non-necessity” items were removed including the stereo, electrical seat adjustment and automatic air-condition. The windows are 0.2mm thinner, and the lining in the boot has been completely removed. Recaro bucket seats provide further weight reduction. A total of 136kg is trimmed as a result.

A set of lightweight alloy wheels can also be specified to save another 20kg on unsprung weight.

The lighten Camaro is stopped by a set of carbon ceramic Brembo brakes with six calipers at the front axle and four at the back, while contact with the tarmac is provided by a set of semi slicks Pirelli rubber measuring 305/30 at all corners.

The cost for all the added performance? A whopping €13,000 (US$17,431).
