Lamborghini has released a new promotional video of possibly the last iteration of the Gallardo.
The Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse is designed to inject race car excitement onto a road car. It is based on the Gallardo Super Trofeo and features a number of carbon fibre and aluminium components that is responsible for trimming the car’s weight to 1,340kg – 70kg lighter than the Gallardo LP 560-4.
Like a race car, the Squadra Corse comes with carbon ceramic brakes, a quick-release engine cover and a conspicuous rear wing. Power comes from a 5.2-litre V10 engine tweaked to produce 10 more horsepower than the LP560-4, for a total output of 419kW (570HP) and 540Nm of torque.
It is mated with a six-speed e-gear transmission that sends power to all four wheels, enabling the supercar to dash triple digits from a standstill in a mere 3.4 seconds. 0-200km/h in accomplished in 10.4 seconds before hitting a top speed of 320km/h.
Visually, the car sports tri-colour stripes next to the rear air scoop, whie the interior receives relatively few changes except for an Alcantara-wrapped dashboard, carbon fibre trim and special Squadra orse badging.
