Skoda Octavia Scout 4×4 joins local range

The Skoda Octavia Scout 4×4 has joined the Octavia range in Australia. It brings a Haldex 5 all-wheel drive system, raised ground clearance and unique exterior and interior styling to the Octavia wagon.

Available in three variants, the Octavia Scout kicks of at $32,990 for the 110TDI model. It comes with an 110kW/340Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine matched with a 6-speed manual transmission. It is capable of doing a claimed 0-100km/h in 9.1 seconds while returning a combined average of 5.3L/100km.

Next up is the sole petrol variant in the range, the $38,590 132TSI with a 132kW/280Nm 1.8-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol. It is paired with a 6-speed DSG transmission and will return 7.1L/100km of claimed combined average. 0-100km/h takes 7.8 seconds.

The range tops out with the $41,390 135TDI equipped with a 135kW/380Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine, connected to a 6-speed DSG. It is capable of returning 5.3L/100km and takes 7.8 seconds to reach 100km/h from a standstill.

The Octavia Scout 4×4 is instantly recognisable by its strong-featured Scout-specific bumpers. The rugged and functional features continue underneath the vehicle to underbody protection for rough road-use. The Octavia Scout 4×4 also sits 31mm higher than the regular Octavia, offering greater ground clearance for greater versatility.

The interior of the Octavia Scout 4×4 expands on the much-lauded design of the standard Octavia range with its own unique badging and trim details. The Octavia Scout 4×4 interior features include standard highlights such as a 5.8-inch “Bolero” touchscreen radio, leather appointed steering wheel, gear-shifter and hand brake lever and chrome inner door handles.

In the higher specification 135TDI and 132TSI models, both receive Alcantara leather appointed seat upholstery, an eight-inch ‘Columbus’ unit with touch screen functionality and satellite navigation, dual zone air conditioning and automatic tailgate as standard equipment.

For customers wishing to further enhance their Octavia Scout 4×4, two optional packages are available. On top of the 110TDI models’ standard features which includes nine airbags, rear view camera and rear parking sensors, fatigue detection and Passenger Protect Assist, the Scout 4×4 can be paired with the $4,400 optional Premium Pack.

The Premium Pack includes 110TDI Octavia the 8-inch touch screen ‘Columbus’ unit with satellite navigation, Alcantara leather-appointed upholstery, dual zone air conditioning, heated front seats, automatic tailgate, 17-inch ‘Polar’ alloy wheels, and privacy glass.

Available on all three engine variants, a $3,900 ($3,300 for 135TDI) Tech Pack brings Adaptive Cruise Control with Front Assist and City Emergency Brake [available on the 110TDI and 132TSI only], Bi-Xenon headlights, Automatic Parking Assist, premium 10-speaker Canton sound system, advanced keyless entry with Smart Start, Driving Mode Selection, and, for the first time for ŠKODA, a new camera-based Lane Assist system.
