2016 Kia Optima sedan shows its face ahead of New York debut

Meet the new face of the 2016 Kia Optima sedan.

Revealed by Kia today ahead of the car’s official debut at the New York Motor Show in April, the lone image shows a more modern front fascia, with headlights that merge almost seamlessly with the front grille. Underneath, there’s a pair of air vents that flank the lower grille.

The styling is clearly inspired by the recently unveiled Kia Sportspace Concept at Geneva.

According to the Korean brand, the new 2016 Optima will be offered with multiple engine choices and have get a more spacious interior with premium features and a number of technologies not currently offered.

In Australia, the Kia Optima is available with a 2.4-litre GDI petrol engine developing 148kW of power and 250Nm of torque. It drives the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.
