Alfa Romeo planning 5 Series fighter?

It seems that Alfa Romeo’s aggressive product onslaught isn’t going to fade anytime soon, as the Italian manufacturer is rumored to be mulling a 5 series and E-Class fighter with an all-new luxury saloon.

Envisioned here by design studio MalteseDesign, the speculated new flagship boasts Alfa’s familiar sculpted design language and adopts styling elements from the recently launched Giulia mid-size sedan. If green-lighted, it will slot above the Giulia and could revive the Alfetta nameplate.

The new model is expected to share the same platform that underpins the Giulia and upcoming Stelvio SUV. It will also likely feature the same powertrains, including the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 currently powering the Giulia Quadrifoglio sports sedan.
