Chevrolet will be showcasing a few concepts at this year’s SEMA, amongst them the Holden VF Commodore-based Chevrolet SS.
For the show, the brand has worked with NASCAR driver, Jeff Gordon, to come up with a concept that reflects the driver’s style and the performance credentials of the car. A satin exterior finish lends an all-business appearance to the car, complemented with No. 24 (Gordon’s NASCAR number) graphics, custom-finished 20-inch wheels, a carbon fibre rear spoiler and a custom front grille.
The Gordon SS concept also features lowered suspension, high-performance brakes and a Borla performance exhaust system.
Inside, the cabin has been re-trimmed with perforated suede seat inserts and embroidered headrests and a racing-style flat-bottom steering wheel and Chevrolet Accessories pedal kit.
Under the bonnet, the LS3 6.2-litre V8 producing 310kW power and 563Nm of torque has been left untouched. It is married to a six-speed automatic transmission with TAPShift.
