Lexus’ controversial LF-NX compact crossover SUV concept, which made its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show earlier this year, will be making a comeback at the upcoming 43rd Tokyo Motor Show, to be held from November 20 to December 1.
Unlike the concept displayed at Frankfurt, the Tokyo bound concept will feature a newly-developed 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, in place of the 2.5-litre four-cylinder Atkinson-cycle engine in the previous concept. Lexus claimed the new engine is all geared for “guaranteed power and improved fuel economy”.
The new turbo LF-NX concept will also receive a few minor cosmetic changes. A lower center of gravity, emphasized by the front under spoiler, gives the turbo model a sportier look.
Already one of the most talked about concepts in the motoring world, the LF-NX cuts a lean profile, with its compact, sharp body and bold tyres conveying a unique SUV design. It is the boldest interpretation of the company’s trademark spindle grille to date.
Inside, the LF-NX features a new remote touch interface with touchpad functionality which Lexus hope will provide an advanced, user-friendly experience. The new interface can also be seen in the newly revealed Lexus RC Coupe.
