Skoda has released a couple of images showing the all-new Skoda Superb prototype undergoing its final tests in Southern Europe, among other regions.

The new model will carry a new design language, new proportions, innovative technology and promises better driving dynamics, with the Czech brand aiming to position the new Superb in the upper end of its class. Expect the car to share its range of engines with stablemate, the Volkswagen Passat.

Skoda said the third-generation Superb would offer increased space and boot size that will set a new benchmark in its segment. Built on Volkswagen Group’s latest MQB platform, the car will come with a range of infotainment and connectivity, safety and eco-friendliness usually seen in cars one class above. It will also loose 75kg despite the car being 20mm longer 50mm wider than the current model.

“The new Skoda Superb is the best Skoda ever. This latest generation of our flagship will appeal to new groups of customers in the business and private sector. The qualities of the Superb emphasise the brand’s values and point to the future of Skoda,” said Skoda CEO, Prof. Dr. Winfried Vahland.
