Hybrid joins 2015 Range Rover Sport range

2015 Range Rover Sport HSE Dynamic

The 2015 Range Rover Sport is now on sale, with additional equipment at no extra costs to the customer. A new entry level variant, the TDV6 S priced from $92,600, and a Hybrid model priced from $146,900, have also been introduced.

Specified with Land Rover’s legendary next-generation four corner air suspension and Terrain Response, and powered by an efficient 190kW/600Nm 3.0-litre turbo diesel V6 engine, the TDV6 S is available from December 2014.

Standard features of the model include – a hard disk navigation system with hard disk audio server & voice control, rear-view camera with visual guidance and a hitch assist function, 19” five split spoke alloy wheels, comfortable and supportive 6/4 way seats with height adjustment, and enjoy music as it was intended through the 250W audio system with eight speakers.

2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged

The Range Rover Sport first hybrid model, the 3.0 SDV6 Hybrid will be offered in both HSE and Autobiography trim levels, the latter priced from $165,300.

The Hybrid uses a state-of-the-art diesel powertrain, which combines the 215kW 3.0-litre engine, and an integral 35kW/175Nm electric motor packaged between the engine and the 8-speed automatic transmission. Total combined output is rated at 250kW and 700Nm, enough to propel the luxury 4WD from 0-100km/h in 6.7 seconds, while returning a claimed combined fuel consumption of 6.4L/100km.

To ensure that there is no compromise to the Range Rover Sport’s peerless breadth of capability, the vehicle has been engineered from the start for a hybrid derivative. As a result, the hybrid model is said to retain the dynamic driving experience of the other models, as well as their class-leading off-road performance.

The Hybrid model offers the customer additional Hybrid functionality in addition to the Land Rover Terrain Response programs. A driver selectable EV mode prioritises EV running on electric power only, and an Inhibit mode prioritises Hybrid boost to support the engine for maximum vehicle performance or to reassure the driver on difficult terrain.
