2015 Volvo XC90 pricing and specifications. Arrives Q2

Volvo Car Australia has announced the pricing and specifications of the all-new Volvo XC90. Set to go on sale locally in the second quarter of 2015, Volvo’s full-sized SUV will be priced from $89,950 plus on-road costs for the D5 Diesel Momentum.

Based on the Swedish marque’s new Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform, there will be 3 models and 3 trim levels – D5 Diesel, T6 Petrol in Momentum, Inscription and R-Design – powered by either a petrol or diesel engine. A petrol-electric hybrid engine is offered exclusively in T8 R-Design trim. All engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system.

The D5 Diesel gets a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine generating 165kW @ 4,250rpm and 470Nm @ 1,750-2,500rpm. It will return a combined fuel consumption of 5.8 litres per 100km.

A 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine is found under the bonnet of the T6. It produces 236kW @ 5,700rpm and 400Nm @ 2,200-4,500rpm while consuming a combined average of 7.7 litres per 100km.

Meanwhile, the T8 R-Design is propelled by the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine paired with a 60kW electric motor. The final output and fuel consumption figures for the drivetrain will be announced closer to launch, set to take place in the 3^rd quarter of 2015.
