Volvo Art Session – artists makes XC60 disappears into art

For the past two years, Volvo has set up an art display at the central train station in Zurich, Switzerland called the Volvo Art Session. Select artists, both emerging and established, were invited to create temporary exhibits with one of Volvo’s current range of vehicles as the centrepiece.

This year is no difference. With the theme “Design Around You” and using the Volvo XC60 as the focal point, six artists from across Europe were invited to bring their imagination alive.

Each started with a white XC60 in front of a blank white canvas. At the end of each session, they created a three-dimensional work of art that only existed for a short time until the next artist painted over it.

“With the Art Session we want to demonstrate that Volvo Cars is a creative and innovative brand which places people at its heart. This unique art happening also enables us to reach new potential customers who hadn’t considered Volvo previously,” explains Anouk Poelmann, President of Volvo Car Switzerland.

While some made the XC60 the focal point of their art, others chose to make the SUV seemingly vanish using their brush. Head over to VolvoArtSession.com for more photos and time-lapse videos of the artists at work.
