Ford Mustang GT gets widebody treatment

We have seen puffed Lamborghini Huracan, extra-wide Nissan GT-R, and even fat Volkswagen Golf R. Now it’s the new Ford Mustang’s turn to get the widebody treatment.

Developed by KAR Motorsports in California, the Ford Mustang GT is by no means subtle. Beefed up with one of the widest bodykits we have seen, the Pony car gains significant width from the extended wheel fenders, which are now able to swallow massive 20-inch dual-lipped deep dish wheels wrapped in super wide 285/30 (front) and 335/30 (rear) tyres.

The aggressive stance is further lifted with new side skirt extensions, front splitter, rear diffuser and rear boot lid spoiler.

It’s much more than just cosmetics, as the Mustang’s 5.0-litre V8 gets boosted by a Hellion twin-turbo setup and now pushes out an insane 706kW (947hp) at 1.1 bar boost pressure. The system also includes a larger intercooler, boost controller and new exhaust system.
