Volvo V40 R-Design to Debut at Paris Motor Show

Volvo will debut the all-new Volvo V40 R-Design at the Paris Motor Show later this month.

Dressed in stunning Rebel Blue, the stylish hatchback will come exclusively with the T5 engine, which delivers 187kW (251hp/254PS) at 5,400rpm and 360Nm at 1,800-2,400rpm. 0 – 100km/h is achieved in 6.5 seconds while top speed is electronically limited to 250km/h.

The V40 R-Design’s chassis has been developed with collaboration from Swedish racing driver, Robert Dahlgren, and the Volvo Polestar Black R team. It sits 10mm lower compared with the regular chassis, while springs and shock absorbers have a firmer setting.

Unique R-Design features that set the car apart from other V40s include a silk-metal framed high-gloss grille and twin exhaust tailpipes, ironstone diffuser and five-spoke diamond-cut 18” alloy wheels.

Inside, the interactive dashboard features three layouts with different configuration and functionality – Elegance, Eco and Performance. Meanwhile, occupants are pampered in a combination of black perforated leather and Nubuck textile seats, crowned by an embroidered R-Design logo with a blue “R”. Full leather seats are also available as an option.

The sporty theme continues with new aluminium inlays with a perforated look, black leather, matching stitching and a black headliner.

Final Australian specifications for the Volvo V40 T5 R-Design will be announced closer to local launch.
