Video: Jaguar reveals track-focused XKR-S GT

Jaguar has unveiled its track-focused XKR-S GT at the New York Auto Show. Developed by the company’s Engineered to Order (ETO) division, the road legal XKR-S based sports car features a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine that delivers 404kW (550HP) and 680Nm of torque.

It drives the rear wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission with an active electronic differential. The XKR-S GT accelerates from 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 299km/h (186mph).

To improve handling, the sports coupé is equipped with a sport-tuned suspension with revised bushings and wider front tracks. New height-adjustable adaptive dampers that feature race-derived twin spring system, a new steering system with faster steering ratio and carbon ceramic brakes that measures 398mm up front and 380mm at the back are also the order of the day.

Visually, the XKR-S GT looks more aggressive with a front bumper that boasts a carbon fibre front splitter, carbon fibre canards and carbon fibre wheel arch spats. There is also a ventilated bonnet to aid cooling and reduce under-bonnet air pressure, rear carbon fibre diffuser and a substantial rear wing. Other highlights include an aluminium valance and 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels with Pirelli Corsa tyres measuring 255/35 front and 305/30 rear.

Inside, the sports seats are draped in leather/Alcantara with red contrast stitching while aluminium can be found on the paddle shifters.

The Jaguar XKR-S GT is offered exclusively in Polaris White exterior paint. Jaguar will only be making 30 units of the track weapon.
