Please build this 2019 Forester STI, Subaru!

With SUVs getting ever more popular by the day, it might make sense for Subaru to capitalise on this growing demand, as well as enthusiasts’ desire for performance with a 2019 Forester STI.

Rendered here by X-Tomi Design and based on the recently unveiled 2019 Forester, the Forester STI certainly looks the bit, with a deep front apron, chunky body kit, 19-inch alloys from the latest WRX STI, as well as STI’s trademark blue paint finish.

Importantly, imagine how endlessly tasty the Forester STI would be if Subaru stuffs the WRX STI’s stout 221kW/407Nm along with its 6-speed manual gearbox under its bonnet! Together with sportier suspension and Subaru’s clever all-wheel drive system, we certainly believe it would be a winner for the brand.

If it does happen, it will be the first time the Japanese marque ever slapped a STI badge on the Forester. The closest thing we’ve seen to one was the Japanese market Forester tS in 2015 of which just 300 units were enhanced with various STI bits and tuned by STI. Sadly, it was only available with a CVT.

Come on Subaru, let’s do this!
