2025 Subaru Forester Aussie specification confirmed

The all-new sixth-generation Subaru Forester makes its official Australian debut this weekend at the Melbourne Motor Show ahead of its mid-year launch.

Featuring a bolder, more athletic exterior design with a revamped front fascia, new grille and prominent boxed wheel arches, the new Forester builds on its rugged and durable reputation with a class-leading 220mm ground clearance to improve everyday usability.

Making its debut as the first Subaru model in Australia equipped with the company’s new next-gen hybrid system, the new Forester features e-Boxer which pairs a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine with an 88kW electric motor and a 1.1kW battery system, all working through an 8-speed CVT to deliver efficient all-wheel drive performance with a claimed range of over 1,000km.

Drivers who prefer the option of the petrol-only powertrain will still be able to opt for the aspirated 2.5-litre Boxer four-cylinder petrol engine, which is also paired with Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and Lineartronic CVT transmission.

With the all-new Forester, Subaru continues to prioritise vehicle safety. The latest-generation EyeSight Driver Assist technology, featuring the new Emergency Driving Stop System, is standard across the range.

For added control on slippery surfaces, steep driveways, and challenging terrain, X-Mode enhances grip and stability when conditions turn tough. The Driver Monitoring System, 360-Degree View Monitor, and a total of 9 airbags underscore Subaru’s commitment to achieving zero fatal accidents in a Subaru by 2030.

Every Forester is equipped with a new 11.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, alongside wireless charging capability. Select hybrid variants also introduce a customisable 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

The all-new 2025 Subaru Forester will be available in seven highly specified variants. Full specifications and pricing for the Subaru Forester range will be announced closer to launch.
