Mercedes-Benz X 350 d Edition 1 joins X-Class range

Following the launch of the new X 350 d flagship X-Class model in December last year, Mercedes-Benz is introducing an exclusive Edition 1 variant of the X 350d.

Making visual impact is the black design theme of the limited edition model. The Edition 1 standard metallic paint will be available in three different colours, kabara black, bering white or rock grey. However when it comes to the exterior parts, black is the order of the day: boasting a black centrally positioned star and twin-louvre radiator grill, front and rear bumper-bar valance, fog light surrounds, side door handles, rear tailgate handle, nomenclature badges, beltline trim strip, roof rails and 19-inch 6-twin-spoke alloy wheels.

As a first for X-Class sports stripes adorn the engine bonnet, side mirrors, V6 badge surrounds, lower side lines and rear tailgate. In kabara black, all exterior parts and stripes are a high gloss finish, with the sports stripes appearing in grey for contrasting impact. In bering white and rock grey, a matt black finish is applied for all exterior parts and stripes.

The black styling bar and tubed side steps give the Edition 1 a sportier and more progressive character. Combined with a bedliner and hard tonneau cover in the vehicle colour, the standard Edition 1 equipment helps get the job done whilst giving it a distinctive look and appeal.

Design highlights in the interior include floor mats with Edition 1 embroidery and a chrome Edition 1 badge on the passenger side dash. Standard leather heated seats are included, along with rear privacy glass and an electric rear windowpane.

The Edition 1 is based on the X 350 d POWER variant, with motivation coming from a 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel engine developing 190 kW/550 Nm driving through a permanent all-wheel drive system with low range reduction gear.

The X-Class Edition 1 X 350 d is priced at $87,500 before on-road costs and available from July.
