Dieselgate: Bought Back Volkswagens fill Car Park in the Thousands

The Pontiac Silverdome in Michigan, US was the place where Monster Truck aka Bigfoot made its debut. Today the stadium is permanently closed and abandoned, there isn’t a single person in sight, but the massive parking lot surrounding the stadium is full of cars.

Why? That’s because the vast empty space is now home to thousands of Volkswagen vehicles, all with TDI 2.0-litre diesel engines. These cars have been bought back from their owners at the dealer as a result of the Dieselgate saga. The ‘Buy Back’ program is part of Volkswagen’s on going compensation for millions of affected vehicles and customers worldwide.

There are several of these centers scattered around the USA. These cars are being kept here while Volkswagen figure out what the next step is. Watch the video below and be amazed by the sheer number of cars.
