Breaking: Holden’s owner General Motor leaving Australia?

In news just in, General Motors is said to be pulling out of Australia, although the Holden badge may stay.

Holden’s American owners, General Motor is reportedly in talks to divest itself from its Australian operations, following a similar move in Europe where it sold Opel and Vauxhall to the PSA Group two years ago.

If true, Holden’s future will rest with Inchcape Australia, the importer of Peugeot, Citroen and Subaru vehicles, which is said to be in talks with General Motors to take over the sales, marketing and distribution of Holden vehicles.

Stay tuned for further developments.
