Over the past decade, Shelby has unveiled three special edition models in honor of Terlingua Racing Team. Now it is time for another Terlingua-themed car. But unlike all the models that came before it, the latest Terlingua special edition is a Hellcat-stomping 559kW (750hp) tweaked Ford Mustang GT.

The power boost comes from a supercharger kit for the 5.0-litre V8, a new exhaust system sourced from Borla, and a new engine management unit.

To cope with the extra punch, Shelby equipped the Mustang with adjustable Eibach suspension, 20-inch aluminium rims, Brembo brakes and Ford Performance half-shafts. The team also tweaked the gear ratios to better suit the increased power output.

Visually, the Terlingua Ford Mustang gets a new bonnet, front splitter, side skirt extension, rear diffuser and rear spoiler in the backdrop of a bright yellow paint work plastered with motorsport decals.

If you’re feeling especially racy, Shelby can also fit the interior with four-point harnesses and a roll cage.

Shelby is building only 75 examples of the special edition Mustang — 50 for the U.S. market and 25 for the rest of the world — so if you want a piece of Shelby history, we’d suggest getting your order in.
