Ford has announced a series of updates to the Shelby GT350 Mustang.

The hardcore version of the pony car receives a new standard Track Package that includes an aluminium strut tower brace, MagneRide variable damping sport suspension and rear spoiler. Keeping things cooled are new engine oil, transmission and differential coolers.

The colour palette is now joined by Ruby Red Metallic, Lightning Blue, and Grabber Blue. The new shades replace the previously available Deep Impact Blue and Competition Orange.

Inside, the 2017 Shelby GT350 Mustang is offered with two trim packages. The Electronics Package includes a nine-speaker audio system and a SYNC 3 infotainment system with GPS navigation. The optional Convenience Package goes one step further as it includes all the aforementioned equipment as well as leather-trimmed power sport seats.

Under the bonnet, a 5.2-litre atmospheric V8 engine motivates the Mustang with 392kW (526hp) of power and 581Nm (429lb-ft) of torque, channeled to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox.

The Shelby GT350 Mustang goes on sale exclusively in the United States this June.
