VW introduces V6 & V8 Touareg Wolfsburg limited-edition

Volkswagen Australia has unveiled the limited-edition 2021 VW Touareg Wolfsburg with V6 or V8 turbo-diesel and sinister black styling.

Of the 300 units on offer, 200 will be fitted with a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 producing 210kW and 600Nm of torque, and a Golf GTI-challenging 6.5 seconds 0-100km/h time. It’s essential the same powertrain as the Touareg 190TDI.

The remaining 100 will come with Volkswagen Group’s 4.0-litre turbo-diesel V8 generating 310kW and 900Nm, enabling the large German SUV to dash from 0-100km/h in just 4.9 seconds.

Both engines are connected to an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive system, while four-wheel steering and active roll stabilisation also aids handling.

The Touareg Wolfsburg features more aggressive styling cues thanks to the standard “Black Style” R-Line package which brings blacked out front grille which extends into the headlight cluster, gloss black mirror caps, black window surrounds, black roof rails and gloss black 21-inch Suzuka alloy wheels.

The black theme continues inside with R-Line Savona leather appointed upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats with massage function and memory, seat heating to the second row outboard seats, heated R-Line steering wheel with paddle-shifters, brushed stainless steel pedals, gloss black centre console and black headliner.

Other standard goodies include a Sound and Comfort package with Dynaudio Consequence sound system, four-zone climate control, soft-close doors, memory function for the electric steering column, auto-dimming mirrors and 360-degree cameras.

The Innovation Package also comes standard and adds 15-inch infotainment screen, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, head-up display, ambient interior lighting with 30 selectable colours.

On the safety front, the Touareg Wolfsburg comes with IQ Drive encompassing Front Assist with Pedestrian Monitoring, Lane Assist with Adaptive Lane Guidance, Emergency Assist, Travel Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Side Assist with Front and Rear Cross Traffic Assist, Park Assist, Driver Fatigue Detection, Proactive Occupant Protection, and front and rear parking sensors.
