First shown at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, the convertible version of the hugely popular Toyota 86 coupe is set to make another appearance at the upcoming 43rd Tokyo Motor Show, to be held from November 23 to December 1.

Production version of the Toyota 86 drop top is still under consideration as the company tries to gauge public interest on the concept. Appearing in right-hand-drive for the first time, the concept features a luscious two-tone leather interior and a soft top that is electrically operated and stows away cleanly within the car’s boot. Despite loosing its roof, the 86 Convertible looks well-proportioned and tidy, without any awkward hump to store the folded roof.

Invariably, the convertible is bound to be slightly heavier, while also loosing some of the coupé’s rigidity. But for the sun seekers out there, it’s a small price to pay.
