Mercedes resurrects Maybach as sub-brand

Mercedes-Maybach (X 222) 2014

Mercedes-Benz will resurrect the Maybach badge – again, with the launch of the Mercedes-Maybach S600 in Guangzhou and Los Angeles later this month. The Maybach brand was previously revived in 2002 with little success, with only 3,000 cars sold and was eventually laid to rest last year.

However, the Maybach brand’s second coming will be slightly different. It will be a sub-brand to the three-pointed star this time and aims to offer customers who desire exclusivity and individuality to stand out with their Mercedes-Benz S-Class – in the same way as it does with the sporty positioning of Mercedes-AMG.

Mercedes-Maybach S 600 (X 222) 2014

The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class expands the current range of S-Class sedans with the addition of a vehicle that sets a new benchmark for exclusivity and meets even the most discerning of requirements in terms of its appointments. Some of the features that distinguish it from the standard-production models include extra spaciousness, special seats and lavishly designed, prestigious interiors offering extensive scope for individualisation. As a result, Mercedes-Maybach vehicles is said to meet the requirements of even the most discerning customers worldwide and aims to deliver Mercedes-Benz vehicles in an even more exclusive form.

Stay tuned for more when the car launches late November.
