Mercedes-Benz SLC AMG caught testing

It isn’t very often that car manufacturers actually hand the media with spy shots of their own test cars, but that’s exactly what Mercedes-Benz has done.

The spy photos you see on this page were first sent to certain publications in the UK before our friends at CarScoops got hold of them, and they are prototypes of the brand’s upcoming SLC AMG. Yes, the SLS AMG’s little brother!

The latest sports car from Mercedes will be waging a battle against the likes of the Porsche 911 and Nissan GT-R.

From these spy shots, it is clear that the SLC AMG will get a lot of its styling from the SLS AMG, from its extra long bonnet to the squat rear haunches, but without the famous gull-wing doors.

Motivation is almost certain to come from a turbocharged V8 engine pushing out around the same horsepower as the 911. An entry-level model with two less cylinders are also likely.

The Mercedes-Benz SLC AMG is due to debut sometime in 2015.
