Gearing up for a late 2015 launch, the new Mercedes C-Class Coupe has been spotted undergoing testing near the company’s technical centre in Germany. The new C-Class coupe, along with the C-Class convertible, will complete the C-Class lineup, which currently consists of the sedan and wagon models.

Like the sedan, the two-door C-Class coupe will inherit design cues from the flagship S-Class coupe. The rival to the BMW 4 Series will have a wider track and lower roofline compared to its sedan sibling, further distinguished by slightly revised headlights and slender taillights.

Unlike the outside, the interior of the coupe will remain largely similar to the sedan. It will also carry over the sedan’s engine lineup, which includes a range of petrol and diesel options. Like its predecessor, the top of the range will be represented by the C63 AMG Coupe with a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine that develops over 350kW and 650Nm.

The new C-Class coupe is expected to make its first debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
