Jaguar’s 3 Series beater has arrived in Australia and goes on sale next month. Pricing for the four-variant Jaguar XE starts from $60,400 plus on-roads for the entry-level XE Prestige 20t, putting the new Jaguar right in the path of the German trio, as well as the Lexus IS, in terms of pricing.
Available in four trim levels – Prestige, R-Sport, Portfolio and S, the Jaguar XE range will offer a choice of four engines, from the all-new Ingenium diesel engine, to the F-Type derived 3.0-litre V6 supercharged petrol engine:
2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel ‘20d’ delivering 132kW/430Nm. 0-100km/h in 7.8 seconds. Averaged fuel consumption rated at 4.2L/100km.
2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol ‘20t’ delivering 147W/280Nm. 0-100km/h in 7.7 seconds. Averaged fuel consumption rated at 7.5L/100km.
2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol ‘25t’ delivering 177kW/340Nm. 0-100km/h in 6.8 seconds. Averaged fuel consumption rated at 7.5L/100km.
3.0-litre V6 supercharged petrol delivering 250kW/450Nm. 0-100km/h in 5.1 seconds. Averaged fuel consumption rated at 8.1L/100km.
All engines come standard with automatic idle stop/start and are paired with a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission.
