BMW M4 Convertible Edition 30 Years announced

BMW has announced a M4 Convertible Edition 30 Years to mark three decades since the introduction of the open-top high-performance model.

Limited to just 300 units, the model features the M Competition Package to complement the 331kW twin-turbo straight-six engine, along with an M Sport exhaust system, adaptive M suspension with bespoke SPORT mode and “an extremely” sporty configuration of the stability control system and Active M differential.

The model comes in a choice of two tradition-steeped body colours – Macao Blue Metallic that harks back to the original open-top M, and Madarin II uni that is reminiscent of the Dakar Yellow paint job offered on the second-generation M3 Convertible.

Standard features for the edition model include BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line trims for the BMW kidney grille surround, the M side gills, the model lettering and the forged M light alloys boasting a star-spoke design. The 20-inch wheels come in the colour Orbit Grey matt offered exclusively for the edition model.

The Merino full leather trim matches the body paintwork, characterises the interior of the BMW M4 Convertible Edition 30 Years. In conjunction with the exterior colour Macao Blue metallic, there is a choice of the two-tone colour combinations Black/Fjord Blue and Black/Silverstone.

The exclusive features also comprise contrast stitching on the headrests as well as M floor mats with piping in the respective contrasting colour. Black interior surfaces with yellow contrast stitching are offered in conjunction with Mandarin II uni, whilst interior trim strips in the version Carbon Fibre come as standard for all edition model variants.

The “30 Jahre Edition” lettering is imprinted both on the doorsills and the headrests. A signet on the interior trim strip on the passenger side dashboard area boasts, in addition to the lettering “30 Jahre Edition”, the number “1/300”, giving reference to the limited series.

BMW Australia has confirmed it has put its hands up for an unspecified number of the limited edition model to come to Australia in the second half of 2018.

No price has been revealed but the M4 Convertible with Competition Package sells for $165,900. Being a limited edition, you can expect a pay a decent premium on top of that.
