The updated 2015 Peugeot 208 range has just gone on sale in Australia with refreshed styling, new powertrain and new colour options.
All models feature Euro 6 emissions-compliant drivetrains, with the new 208 Access joining the range for the first time.
Packing either a 60kW 1.2-litre PureTech matched with a five-speed manual, or a 81kW 1.2-litre turbocharged PureTech e-THP engine paired with a new Aisin six-speed automatic, the Access manual is priced from $15,990 RRP, while the Access Auto carries an RRP of $18,990.
A 208 GT-Line is now also available and aim at those who want sporty styling without the performance of the 208 GTi, which remains a range topper.
The GTi now gains an uprated engine that produces 153kW and 300Nm of torque, enabling it to hit 100km/h from a standstill in 6.7 seconds – 0.1 seconds faster than the pre-facelift model.
Aesthetically, the 2015 model comes with restyled front bumper paired to a wider, deeper grille with 3D-effect gloss black finish, laser engraved lines and black fog light clusters.
There are fresh new 16-inch and 17-inch wheel options, with painted or diamante finishes available, as well as a laser-engraved option as an accessory.
In terms of technology, a reversing camera is available as an option from Active models and above, while Active City Brake (which automatically brakes the car at speeds of less than 40km/h) is available on Allure and GT-Line variants.
