Revised styling and specification for 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLA range

Mercedes-Benz has given the GLA compact SUV a nip and tuck as part of its mid-life update.

The 2017 refresh brings range of interior and exterior upgrades and enhancements. Changes to the exterior are led by an aggressively modified radiator grille and revised front and rear bumpers. Inside, premium ambience has been further lifted through generous use of silver chrome for numerous controls and new trim elements.

New standard equipment includes LED headlamps available across the range, while Hands Free Access – which for the first time includes keyless access to the boot via a swipe of the foot under the rear bumper – is standard on all models except the GLA 180.

An option available on all GLA models (as part of the Vision or Parking Package, depending on model) for the first time is a 360° Camera, which allows occupants to view a bird’s-eye image of the vehicle on the media display during parking and manoeuvring.

An upgraded instrument cluster plus new interior trims for different models – including the addition for the first time of AMG Dinamica microfibre trim for the Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 4MATIC model – complements additional silver chrome finishes around the cockpit.

New wheels for most models complete the external upgrades, ranging from 18-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels in vanadium silver for the GLA 220 d, to the 20-inch AMG multi-spoke alloy wheel in Himalayas grey with a high-sheen rim flange that features on the GLA 45 4MATIC model.

The new Mercedes-Benz GLA is on sale now.
