Find the BMW M2 too dear and the M235i lacking punch? American tuner Dinan comes to the rescue. Shown here with only subtle updates to the exterior, the M235i impresses with what’s under the bonnet.

The goodies of the “S3” performance enhancement package include a Dinan-built new turbocharger and larger intercooler, revised cold air-intake, new engine tune and upgraded exhaust system. As a result the turbocharged 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine now serves up an incredible 328kW (440hp) and 610Nm, 56kW (70hp) and 145Nm more than the BMW M2, and an insane 88kW / 160Nm more than the M235i.

The car sports a new suspension setup which includes revised lower control arms, adjustable sway bars, performance springs, and a limited-slip differential. It rolls on 19-inch wheels shod with track-ready Michelin Pilot Super Sports tires. The interior remains stock, except for monogrammed floor mats and aluminum pedals.

The tuner has not disclosed 0-100km/h times but no doubt it will be even faster than the already ballistic 4.3 seconds of the standard BMW M2.
