VW Golf R Tuned by Siemoneit Racing With 530HP!

Volkswagen Golf’s halo model, the Golf R is a spectacular piece of metal. While it isn’t exactly anaemic, I believe its highly accomplished chassis could handle more power than what VW has endowed it with.

I’m glad I’m not alone in that. German tuning firm, Siemoneit Racing will be offering power hungry owners the chance to extract more power from their car.

There are two performance packages on offer. The first package extracts an extra 85hp (63kW) from the R’s 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine to deliver a healthy 355hp (265kW). Torque increases from 320Nm to a tyre scorching 485Nm (357.7 lb-ft), courtesy of updated EDU software, custom exhaust and a new air intake system.

If that still doesn’t provide enough bragging rights at the barbie, the second and more comprehensive package ups power to a monstrous 530hp (395kW). This is achieved by further tweaking the engine software and by the addition of a larger turbocharger, a new intercooler and a different exhaust system.

Weight saving measures is also on the option list, including a lightweight carbon-fibre bonnet.

Siemoneit Racing is calling their mean looking Golf R the ‘Black Pearl’. Check out the pictures below and tell us if the car is sufficiently different visually from the standard R.

Any R owner’s tempted yet?
