Carlex Design transforms Mercedes X-Class into Exy 6×6 beast

Carlex Design is no stranger when it comes to pimping up rides and the latest project from the tuner is arguably one of its more ambitious, as the team jumps on the six-wheeler bandwagon with its Mercedes-Benz X-Class Exy 6×6 Concept.

This is not just an X-Class with an extra axle and an extended bed either, as Carlex Design even went to the trouble of giving the pickup truck a new front fascia complete with aggressive air intakes and a winch in the centre.

There’s also a new bonnet scoop on the bonnet, as well as flared wheel arches with exposed rivets for a tougher look. Up on the roof, the Carlex Design tuned X-Class gains an LED light bar, while the side steps makes getting into the raised pickup easier.

As expected, the biggest change is found at the back, where the extended wheel arches house an extra pair of wheels shod in fat off-road tyres. The X-Class’ stock tailgate has also been replaced with a new one adorned with a massive ‘X’, while the rear bumper is all new and comes with integrated exhaust outlets.

Carlex Design hasn’t released any technical details at this stage but the bonnet scoop could hint at a power boost. With the most powerful X-Class currently motivated by a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 pumping out 190kW and 550Nm of torque, we can expect the X-Class Exy 6×6 to best that.
