The F87 BMW M2 might be getting discontinued in Europe due to the region’s ever tightening emission regulations, but there’s no stopping tuners from grabbing every last opportunity to work their magic on what is often regarded as BMW’s best ever M car.
One such tuner is Lightweight Performance. No stranger to tuning BMW M cars, the German tuner’s latest project is this BMW M2 Final Edition, which, as its name suggest, was created as a final send off for the formidable sports coupe.
Based on the BMW M2 Competition, the Final Edition is an absolute bang. We are talking a fire-breathing 545kW of power and 880Nm of torque, all achieved through hardware upgrades to the 3.0-litre twin-turbo in-line six engine, along with an ECU tune.
The goodies include improved cooling and intake for the engine, an HJS 2 × 200 Zeller downpipe, and Lightweight custom made exhaust system with Otto particle filter. Sharpening dynamics further is the Pro Street Multi chassis tweak which is developed in partnership with suspension expect Eibach. The suspension allows adjustment for rebound and compression without removing panels and without a lifting platform.
Rolling on 19-inch Titan 7 forged wheels, the Finale Edition also features a brake cooling kit and steel braided brake lines.
Matching the boosted performance is a carbon fibre intensive body, with the roof, fenders and bonnet all made from the lightweight material. The look is further pumped up with a front lip spoiler, rear spoiler carried over from the BMW CS and an updated rear diffuser.
On the inside, more M2 CS parts can be found, such as the CS sports seats upholstered in leather and Alcantara, and the Alcantara wrapped CS steering wheel. And of course, the interior is garnished with carbon fiber panels including those on the centre console and door cards.
