450 HP BMW 1-Series M Coupe from TechTec

German tuner TechTec has released tuning packages for power hungry owners of the BMW 1-Series M Coupe. Customers have the option of choosing from three different levels of tuning. The 3.0 liter inline six turbocharged engine in the standard 1-Series M Coupe makes 340 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque.

For 1,500 €, TechTec will reprogram the ECU in the 1-Series M Coupe to push power output to 380 horsepower and 580 Nm of torque. Stage 2 of the power upgrades include a revamped engine controller a new intercooler. All these for 2,500 € and you get 400 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque.

The third stage, which will be released in late 2011, consists of a new turbocharger, intake and Akrapovic exhaust system. The end result is 450 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque, an increase of 110 horsepower and 200 Nm over the standard 1-Series M coupe. This means 0-100 km/h (62 mph) is now dealt with in just 4.1 seconds compared to the standard version’s 4.9 seconds. Top speed with the limiter removed is 300km/h.

For an extra 2,400 € TechTec will install a set of ClubSport suspension from KW to cope with the power increase.
