2020 Volkswagen Mk8 Golf gets first customisation job from ABT

ABT Sportsline has given the new-generation 2020 Volkswagen Mk8 Golf its first customisation job, just three months after the German hatch hit the market in Europe.

The car now boasts a revised stance, thanks to suspension springs that drop its body by 25-30mm, depending on spec and engine. The new suspension parts are also compatible with vehicles equipped with the adaptive chassis control (DCC) option and is said to provide improved handling besides giving it more squat.

ABT is also offering a number of larger wheel options to complete the sporty looks, including the ER-C series measuring 18- or 19-inches in size and shot with 225/40 and 225/35 tyres, respectively.

Those wanting a meaner look could opt for the diamond-machined FR-C wheels in mystic black. They come in 20-inches and are wrapped in 235/30 tyres, while the matte black, diamond-machined Sport GR range in the same size are also available.

Those looking for a power boost will have to wait a bit longer but ABT confirms it’s already working on performance upgrades for certain petrol and diesel engines, along with an even more comprehensive makeover.
