2013 Mercedes A-Class tuned by Carlsson

Mercedes tuning specialist Carlsson has released a new tuning program for the 2013 A-class. Underlining the inherently sporty character of Mercedes’ latest compact car, the comprehensive package encompasses body styling, interior upgrades, sport alloy wheels, exhaust system and sports suspension.

For the exterior, Carlsson has customised a new front spoiler which is available both for the standard A-class and its AMG version. Also included in the package are side skirts, rear apron with integrated diffuser and a new front grille.

For the AMG Sport version, Carlsson offers grilles for the air outlets on the rear apron, and the cut-outs on either side of the air diffuser emphasis the four polished tailpipes of the Carlsson sports exhaust. In addition to a deeper soundtrack the sports exhaust liberates an additional three horsepower.

The A-class’ handling is further tighten with a set of sport lowering springs which reduce the ride height by 35mm, eliminating those unwanted wheel gaps giving the car an even more hunkered down look. A fully adjustable coil-over suspension kit is also available for the true enthusiast.

Two Carlsson wheel designs can be ordered in different finishes. The 1/10 design alloy wheel is available as Titanium or Diamond Editions in 18 or 19-inch sizes, shod with 225/40 R18, 225/35 R19 tyres. The 19 and 20-inch sizes come in Diamond, Graphite and Titanium Editions, with the 19 and 20-inch sizes available in Ultra Light forged versions. The alternative wheel design is the Carlsson 1/16 RS, in a choice of 18, 19 and 20-inch diameters.

In terms of performance, the Carlsson tuned A-class can be equipped with the C-Tronic CB Plug & Drive module, which connects to the factory ECU via an adapter plug included in the kit. The remapped ECU enables an extra 22 kW and 50 Nm for the A200, bringing the output to 138 kW and 300 Nm, while the A250 sees an increase of 31 kW and 70 Nm to deliver a total output of 186 kW and 420 Nm.

Inside, Carlsson offers illuminated or non-illuminated polished door sill panels, floor mats, alloy footrest and pedals, as well as a fully customised leather upholstery.
