Volkswagen Australia has added a “sportier” version of the 162TSI Tiguan to its midsize SUV offering. The Tiguan 162TSI Sportline will sit below the 162TSI Highline and R-Line in the Tiguan line up.
The Sportline offers several unique, sporty touches to the Tiguan’s exterior and interior design, but at a new entry price for customers wishing to access the Golf GTI-derived 162kW turbocharged petrol engine in the Tiguan. Like the other 162TSI Tiguan models, the Tiguan Sportline also benefits from a seven-speed DSG transmission paired with the 4MOTION all-wheel drive system.
Key features of the Tiguan Sportline is the black ArtVelours microfleece/cloth seat upholstery, LED headlights, chrome roof rails and 20-inch Kapstadt Grey Metallic alloy wheels. The Sportline is also equipped with the Discover Media audio and satellite navigation system, which comes with an eight-inch high definition touchscreen display with Apple Carplay and Android Auto mobile device integration.
The Sportline also comes with an armada of assistance and safety systems, including adaptive chassis control, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Side Assist with Rear Traffic Alert, Traffic Jam Assist and Emergency Assist as standard.
The only options available on the more affordable Tiguan is a panoramic glass sunroof and metallic paint.
The Tiguan Sportline is available for customer order now from Volkswagen’s National Dealer Network.
