Video: BMW M5 Ring Taxi Crashed at the Nurburgring

BMW M5 Ring Taxi crash

A BMW M5 Ring Taxi has crashed at the famed Nürburgring racetrack. As you can see from the accompanying video, the car seemed to have skidded out of the track onto the bank, where it left skid marks on the leaves strewn lawn, and spun around.

The exact cause of the accident, however, is still unknown. Thankfully, there are no injuries reported.

The Ring Taxi is powered by the same 4.4-litre turbocharged V8 as the regular F10 BMW M5 with 423kW of power and 680Nm of torque. It will sprint from a standstill to 100km/h in 4.2 seconds. On a good day, the car gives paying enthusiasts joy rides around the ring with a professional driver behind the wheel.

‘Ring Queen, Sabine Schmitz, used to be the pilot until she retired from the job in late 2011. Instructors from the BMW Driving Experience now handle the driving duties.
