Tesla introduces entry-level AWD Model S 70D

Tesla Motors has introduced their new entry-level all-wheel drive Model S 70D.

Priced from $102,400 excluding on-road costs, the Model S 70D is equipped with a dual motor all-wheel drive system producing 383kW that draws power from a 70kWh battery. It is claimed to have a range of 440km and will complete 0-100km/h in 5.4 seconds.

In addition to dual motor, the 70D comes standard with Autopilot Hardware, Navigation and Supercharging. And, as with every Model S, the 70D will run on the new software 6.2 with free over-the-air updates that will add additional functionality, enhanced performance and improved user experience over time.

The 70D will replace the previous rear-wheel drive 282kW Model S 60.

Three new colours were also unveiled with the new model and will be available on all variants of the Model S: Ocean Blue, Obsidian Black and Warm Silver.

The Model S is the world’s first premium sedan built from the ground up as an electric vehicle. It comes with a near 50/50 weight distribution and remarkably low centre of gravity.
