The tasty Nissan Pulsar Nismo concept made its official global debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. Based on the European market Pulsar hatch and created as a vision of a sporting flagship for the European Pulsar range by Nismo, the hot hatch features a bold styling kit and aero-optimised body.

The Pulsar Nismo concept is said to distil the essence of the brand into every panel, trim and styling element to set itself apart from the more mundane models in the showroom. It is finished in a satin grey matte paintwork and surrounding the body is the Nismo trademark Layered Double-Wing accentuated in red.

Its unique shape is designed by airflow analysis to improve aerodynamics performance as well as giving it a lower gravity appeal. The dramatic front bumper features larger air intakes and striking brake cooling vents.

In profile, the ground hugging effect comes courtesy of deeper side skirts, a lower ride height and 19-inch five arm alloy wheels shod with 235/35 R19 tyres. At the back, the diffuser-style rear bumper and central twin exhaust pipes further reinforce the concept’s motorsport feel.

There are also unique carbon fibre rear spoiler, side skirts and flared wheel arches. As opposed to the conventional white reversing lamp, the Pulsar Nismo concept’s light hosts a clear, dark finish.

Inside, the race-inspired theme continues with a red coloured tachometer, deeply sculpted Recaro sports seats trimmed in Alcantara, a sporty three-spoke steering wheel and alloy pedals.

Under the skin, the concept features a revised suspension system that incorporates settings honed on the racetrack. The spring and damper settings have been revised for better agility and response. Likewise, the steering has been tweaked for even more direct response.

Strangely, no details about the Pulsar Nismo’s powerplant has been released by Nissan, with the company confirming that it will remain a concept at this stage.
