Subaru has unveiled the new XV concept at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show today.

Previewing the direction of the next-generation Subaru XV, the XV design concept embodies Subaru’s so called “DYNAMIC X SOLID” next-generation design philosophy in a compact crossover model.

The new design theme features distinctive character lines on the compact hatch body shape and is said to offer excellent aerodynamic performance in keeping with the “essential functionality of Subaru design”.

According to the Japanese car maker, the new XV concept is also teamed with the ample road clearance and luggage space required of a crossover vehicle, offering the optimum blend of function and style.

Matte-black cladding emphasizes the crossover character. It runs from the front bumper over the wheel arches and side sills to the rear bumper. Orange highlights on the front grille, front and rear bumpers, alloy wheels, and roof rails, accent the exterior.

The second-generation Subaru XV compact crossover is expected to arrive in late 2017.
