Subaru bids farewell to WRX with limited edition RS40

Subaru Australia has launched a limited edition WRX as a final farewell to the model before an all-new model comes in next year, as well as its 40th anniversary milestone.

The WRX RS40 is priced at $44,490 plus on-road costs and adds over $7,000 worth of extra features to the WRX. These include the iconic combination of WR blue mica paint, gold-coloured 17-inch alloy wheels and a bevy of Subaru Tecnica International (STI) components.

The additional features are:

  • Recaro seats with blue coloured Alcantara inserts
  • STI rear spoiler
  • STI front lip spoiler
  • STI short shift gear assembly
  • STI flexible tower strut brace
  • Gold-coloured 17” WRX alloy wheels
  • Exclusive RS40 decals
  • Numbered RS40 internal badge

“This feature-packed special edition makes a direct visual link to the original World Rally Blue WRXs that did so much to grow Subaru’s performance credentials globally,” said Subaru Australia Managing Director, Nick Senior.

He added: “WRX has always been a winner for customers in the retained value stakes and the special editions in particular give it even more cache, so with only 300 of these available, we anticipate high demand.”

The WRX RS40 in only available in sedan and is limited to just 300 units, all in WR Blue Mica paint. It is available for pre-order now and will be in showrooms from the end of August.
